    Comic Review: Jughead’s Time Police (2019-) #3

    Jughead’s Time Police #3

    Archie Comics

    Writer: Sina Grace

    Artist: Derek Charm

Jughead is time traveling and is on the run from the time police. That should be the end of the review, just that one sentence. If that doesn’t entice you to read this comic then you don’t appreciate good, fun comics! But do read on, maybe I can convince you to read this comic. I certainly hope so.

    Jughead's Time Police #3

Jughead is permanently banned from his favorite pie-eating contest. His solution to this problem is to go back in time and stop it from happening. With help from his friends, Jughead invents time travel and finds himself in the future. While there, he learns that he’s a hero for solving world hunger, and meets January McAndrews, a time cop. But not everything is going great though, as we find out in issue three of Jughead’s Time Police picks up where issue two ends.

January McAndrews is meeting with a mysterious person, who turns out to be Jughead Jones. But not the same Jughead Jones we know and love! Together, the two plot to take down our Jughead, calling him the evil Jughead. They’re caught by our Jughead (the “evil” Jughead) who now is on the run through time. Right away, I just love the concept that this issue is playing with, which is an Archie multiverse. The “other” Jughead is wearing the old Design, from the 90s Jughead’s Time Police series. But there’s no explanation just yet. On top of that, there are some funny moments in this issue. Jughead travels through time to escape and goes to a few of the basic time periods you learn in school. He settles on the perfect time period for Jughead, Hamburg around the time he believes hamburgers are invented.

    Jughead's Time Police #3

This story is pretty lighthearted and the art of Derek Charms matches the tone perfectly. It’s more of a cartoon style but there are still some good details in it. The time periods we jump around in this issue have their appropriate looks to them. Regular Jughead looks modern, but the other Jughead is distinct, with his design straight from the older comics. Matt Herm is doing great with the colors as well. The colors are bright and sharp, and the shading is fantastic.

    Jughead's Time Police #3

This comic is just a lot of fun. It’s telling an interesting story, throwing us some twists and turns you don’ really see coming. It’s throwing in a multiverse concept, which while not entirely brand new, is something I’m always a sucker for. If that weren’t enough, the art is fantastic and is a 100% match for this story. It’s Jughead traveling through time and running from the Time Police. If you read this comic, you’ll love it. But, if you’re not reading this comic you owe it to yourself to pick it up.

Jughead's Time Police (2019-) #3 continues as we follow Jughead traveling through time, and in this issue, running from the Time Police. Fun, interesting story, and fantastic art.
