Orochi Killer is a strong alcoholic beverage in Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma, and it happens to be the favorite gift of both Kanata and Ulalaka. While it packs a punch with its effects, acquiring the recipe takes time, making it a nice gift that shines in the final stretch of your adventure.
Unlocking the Orochi Killer Recipe
Players won’t find this drink early. To unlock the Orochi Killer recipe, you’ll need to progress near the end of the game. After completing the main story quest “The God of the Heavens in Hiding,” the follow-up quest “Preparing to Party 1” will prompt you to speak with Kai. Upon talking to him, he’ll give you the Orochi Killer recipe.
If you’re looking to raise Ulalaka’s affection earlier in your journey, consider using Azuma Sake or Spring Kuchikamizake instead. Both are among her loved gifts and can be obtained far earlier. Click here to learn more about the Azuma Sake recipe.
To make Orochi Killer, you’ll need to follow the recipe provided by Kai and use 1 rice and 1 sleep powder. When consumed, it restores 70 RP and grants Dark Damage +20%, while lowering Mind and Intellect by 10% each. It’s a situationally powerful drink.
Why Give It to Ulalaka or Kanata?
Ulalaka is the gentle, kind-hearted goddess of spring. She resides in Spring Village and celebrates her birthday on Spring 27th. She also REALLY likes alcohol.
Kanata is the god of light and the heavens, and serves as the gods’ representative in Azuma. Her birthday is Summer 14th. She isn’t available until late in the game, and getting the Orochi Killer recipe is required to unlock her. This drink is her favorite drink both story-wise and mechanically.
If you’re pursuing either character romantically, having Orochi Killer on hand is a great way to boost their bond.
