Have you ever been so jealous of someone, that you wished you could be them for even just a day? What about a lifetime? Or at least long enough for you to take what it is you wanted from them. What if you got what you wanted? You became the person you were most jealous of and assumed their life. Their wealth, or fame, or maybe their lover. All of their faults, too. Check out this Webtoon Review of “Your Throne” by SAM and you may just get a glimpse of what that would be like!

“Your Throne” is a Webtoon that focuses on royal families. Specifically, the house Solon. Our main character’s name is Medea Solon, and she has worked her entire life to become the crown princess of the empire. She is a ruthless swordswoman, her intellect is matched by no one, her strategies are faultless. She is as beautiful and cunning as she is brave. Yet she’s been denied her prize, which has been given to a weak, pathetic woman named Psyche. Is there more to this plot? Does the prince simply love this other woman, or does he have some sort of motive? You’ll have to read the comic to find out, I’m not giving any more away!

The artwork of “Your Throne” is very anime centered. The people are all drawn with those classically big eyes and heart-shaped features. Truthfully, the artwork itself is very beautiful, but considering the style is so largely done, it doesn’t stand out by itself. That’s where the artists’ use of color comes into play. Their bright and expressive colors really give life to their characters. Their backgrounds are lovely as well, which is very refreshing. Most artists really tend to focus on their characters, but it seems that special attention has been paid to both in this comic. What really stands out to me, however, is the shading and use of shadow. It’s been done really well, and I truly can’t complain about the look of this comic. It’s simply lovely.

I’m quite fond of this Webtoon, even though it’s still fairly new. It has only 14 episodes, and it’s still managed to get my attention. The story is compelling and the art is beautiful to look at, as well. The characters are all very expressive, too. If you’re into stories about betrayal, intrigue, loyalty, and even body-swapping, this comic has got everything you need! Check it out, because I think this comic is really going somewhere. It might be somewhere dark, but still! It’s somewhere, at least.
