If you’re looking for a challenging 2D side-scrolling action platformer with a cute twist, look no further than Shutter Nyan! Enhanced Edition. This unique action game uses a camera to take snapshots of objects and then pastes the photo wherever you want the object to go. You play as a black cat recovering memory snapshots for your dear friend.

In the story, a cat goes to comfort its friend who seems sad. A strong gust of wind blows the cat and the camera from its friend into an unknown and faraway place. The cat must return to its friend and bring her the forgotten memories stored in the camera. Playing as the cat, you must piece together the fragmented photos while overcoming obstacles to uncover the ending of the story.

This game is unique since rather than decimating your foes, you have to find ways to steer the foes away from you or use them to unlock special areas. But don’t be fooled by your foes’ cute appearances; the rabbits, bears, dogs, lions, and tigers are fearsome beings who will pounce on your poor kitty. Everything may look cute and cuddly in this game, but it is very challenging and I’ve died many times just to advance through one level. Yet, after completion of each level, I feel a sense of accomplishment. This game really pushes you to use creative thinking and encourages you to keep trying until the kitty has successfully reached the end of the stage.

Some special costumes for your kitty can be unlocked from the closet once you’ve collected all the posters for each level. You can play as a tuna fish kitty or as Santa cat with a bag full of toys. Once you’ve gone past the hard part of finding all the hidden posters, you can play in your favorite outfit. Costumes can also be unlocked by defeating the secret bosses that you get from uncovering the corresponding jewels.

Your playstyle decides the ending of your adventure and there are several different possible endings to the game. Since there are three trophies to collect for each ending, there may be three possible endings but there could be more. Will your kitty bring a happy ending to its dear friend? Only way to find out is to play Shutter Nyan!
