Ridiculous Expositions
Gray Matters Games
2 Teams of Any Amount of Players
Playtime: 30 Minutes
Being smart with a dirty will finally pay off for some people. Gray Matters Games is bringing Ridiculous Expositions to foul but fast thinkers.
Ridiculous Expositions is a simple thinking game that can be picked up in seconds by any (adult) player. Any amount of players can play, as the game just splits all of the players into two teams. Every card in the game has an adult phrase of some sort. Some cards are sexual positions, slang, or even adult entertainers. The side opposite of the phrase has a butchered version of the card. Players on the same team need to quickly decipher as many cards as they can in 90 seconds. Meanwhile, the opposite team will have a member (The swinger) trying to decipher the cards that the guessing team passes on.
After a few rounds, the game ends and whoever gets the most points wins. It’s that simple. Ridiculous Expositions has the same feel as games like Taboo, in which teams are quickly thinking to move on. It is less interactive than games like taboo though since the person showing the cards isn’t exactly coaching the team. This makes the Ridiculous Expositions feel less like a game and more of a dirty mind challenge. This isn’t exactly surprising considering that Gray Matters Games is dedicated to making mind games, but I have to admit that this is one of their more disappointing entries, especially when I consider how much I enjoy The Game of Wolf.
I still had a decent amount of fun with this game, but I can’t see myself choosing it over similar games. I also can’t see this game lasting long on most shelves considering that it only has a few plays before all of the cards are used up. How can this game be played when a player already knows all of the words?
Still, this can be a fun appetizer to a party game night, just don’t expect it to be a hit at the table. There are just other dirty party games that are more entertaining and more interactive. You’ll get a few laughs here and there, but that’s it. At least every purchase of this game benefits Alzheimer’s research, so that is pretty neat.
