Solis Game Studio and Image Comics unveiled a collaboration between Pocket Paragons and the Massive-Verse at San Diego Comic-Con. This partnership aims to bring Radiant Black, Rogue Sun, Inferno Girl Red, and The Dead Lucky to the card battler.
The upcoming Massive-Verse Card Game release will introduce character decks for each of the four leading heroes, along with character decks for their adversaries – <001>, Cataclysm, The Griffin, and Pyre. This unique feature will allow players to engage in fast-paced battles between heroes and villains mix and match heroes and villains. The Pocket Paragons systems’ universal compatibility will also permit players to pit Massive-Verse characters against those from other Pocket Paragons sets, including ones inspired by video games Rivals of Aether, AEGIS, Acquisitions Inc, or A Robot Named Fight.
Kyle Higgins, co-founder of Massive-Verse and co-creator of RADIANT BLACK, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating, “One of the things we pride ourselves on with the Massive-Verse is trying to find new, immersive ways to tell stories with our characters beyond our comics, but always in the spirit of what made us fall in love with superheroes in the first place. After talking with the team at Solis, we were incredibly impressed by how their game designers understood our characters and translated that into game mechanics – this isn’t a generic game with our brands slapped on top, this is a system that lets you play out the unique struggles and triumphs of our characters.”
Pocket Paragon sets are designed for convenience and rapid gameplay, featuring pocket-sized decks and a game system that delivers highs and lows within duels that can conclude within minutes.
The Massive-Verse Pocket Paragons set will showcase box art and character card art by artist Dan Mora. Additionally, each character’s comic series will contribute to the ability card art.
Scheduled to launch on Kickstarter later this year, the Massive-Verse Pocket Paragons game will hit retail markets by Summer of 2024.
