Modern Wolf and Afterschool Studio have announced that their sci-fi strategy game Cantata will leave Steam Early Access on August 15th, 2023. Developed by Afterschool Studio, Cantata is a colorful, turn-based game that takes players to a war-torn alien planet, offering more than 27 hours of story content and the freedom to create new maps and modes in both single-player and multiplayer.
In Cantata, players will take on the role of one of three factions, engaging in tactical gameplay that blends elements of grand strategy titles with classic tactics games. Players will navigate the world of Shoal through nine fully-authored story campaigns, including three new chapters added for the official release.
Beyond the main storyline, Cantata offers multiplayer features, allowing players to compete against others locally or online. The game also includes a Map Editor and Skirmish Mode, empowering players to create their own battlefields and share them with the community.
Cantata will be available on Steam for £19.99/$24.99/€19.99 at launch, and early adopters will get a 10% discount during the launch week. For players looking for more content, a deluxe “Dreamwalker” version will also be offered at £25.50/$31.18/€26.98, which includes the base game, the Cantata OST, and Digital Wallpapers with a 20% discount during the launch week.
