After a successful Kickstarter campaign, the Plenbo G-Case for Nintendo Switch is here and packed with tons of accessories. The G-Case is promising for hardcore players who want both comfort and longevity while playing in handheld mode. Plenbo provided Sequential Planet with the All-in-1 package for review – how
What’s in the Box
The G-Case All-In-1 package includes the G-case itself, three interchangeable grips, two extra batteries, a USB-C charging cable, a docking station, and a hardshell case designed to accommodate the Switch, the entire G-Case suite, and 24 physical games.
The Feel
The key part of the G-Case’s success is its three interchangeable grips, catering to a variety of hand sizes. This versatility ensures players can find the perfect fit for extended handheld gaming sessions. Gone are the days of discomfort of using Joy-Cons with larger hands. The G-Case proves to be an excellent alternative to third-party Joy-Cons or controllers, giving a great experience.
While the G-Case is more comfortable to grip, it’s worth noting that the G-Case, especially with an attached battery, adds a lot of weight. While not a dealbreaker, it may require players some time to adjust, especially if they are lazy like me, and play on their backs in bed. Still, the battery is magnetic, and easily detachable from the back of the G-Case, providing a lighter alternative when extended playtime isn’t a priority.
The Battery
Comfort is obviously essential, but the second reason to invest in the G-Case is its inclusion of two batteries. Each battery charges the Switch to at least 65%, buying the player another 4-6 hours of gameplay. This is a game-changer for Switch players on long trips, be it international flights, conventions, or extended family gatherings during the winter holidays. With a manageable 2-hour charging time for each battery, the G-Case ensures uninterrupted gaming sessions on the go, and it works like a dream.
Practical Bells and Whistles
Beyond comfort and battery life, the G-Case throws a few more features at players to make the package worth the investment. Bluetooth connectivity allows seamless headphone pairing, addressing the Switch’s inherent delay with native Bluetooth support.
The detachable left and right grips can combine to create a makeshift controller when playing in tabletop or docked mode. Although not as comfortable as a Pro Controller, it surpasses the standard Joy-Con grip, making transitions between modes faster and more comfortable.
The included hard shell case is a convenient bonus, capable of holding up to 24 Switch cartridges. This ample storage, coupled with extra space for cords and accessories, ensures that the case can accommodate the gaming essentials for most players.
The Plenbo G-Case delivers an outstanding package that’s perfect for players who lean on handheld mode. While the added weight may require some adjustment, the comfort, extended battery life, and extra features make the G-Case a worthy investment for those willing to make the admittedly pricey investment.
