The One That Got Away is an intriguing new reality dating show in which six contestants date people from their pasts. Of course, it’s not a healthy environment at all for a real relationship, but some of these couples were a joy to watch. We rank every couple from best to worst here.
Vince and Yurika (Vince’s Prom Queen)
This is one of the few relationships that feels like it has the potential to be true love. The two have excellent chemistry and just feel right for each other. Their engagement felt sudden, but its easy to want the best for these too.
Jeff & Alex (Jeff’s Bestie with Benefits)
Alex and Jeff feel incredibly sincere. While Jeff picking one more person to go through the portal hurt, it’s easy to forgive since Alex is so chaotic anyway. Their finale was cute if not a little scary.
Nigel & Alicia (Nigel’s Formerly Forbidden Friend)
Alicia is one of the stars in the house. She feels sincere, and her and Nigel had something good. The mom might have been just a bit too much, and this “6 and a half” couldn’t stick around.
Nigel & Dezi (Nigel’s Business Bae)
Dezi and Nigel seem to have something real, but knowing how much hurt they have makes it hard to have tons of faith in them. Still, the hard days might be over, so this ship deserves some love.
Simon – Kasey’s College Cutie From College
I wish we had more time to get to know Simon. He is great. They have great chemistry and we wish them the best.
Jeff & Anthony (Jeff’s Confirmation Classmate)
Jeff messed up. Anthony is the best person on this show and the true star of the The One The Got Away.
Vince & Mahnoosh (Vince’s College Crush)
Vince and Mahnoosh’s first date was full of sparks. While this relationship was cute, it ended surprisingly quickly after Yurika swept Vince off of his feet on their prom date.
Jeff & Mikah (Jeff’s Drag Brunch Buddy)
The drag date was cute and fun, but there wasn’t really anything remarkable with this couple
Allyssa & Jeff (Allyssa’s College Crush)
It’s not the best ship on the show, but Jeff is Allyssa’s best chance at love.
Vince & Andrea (Vince’s Law School Crush)
Andrea didn’t do anything wrong, she just came through the portal a little too late to make an impact. Also, what’s up with Vince’s dates getting mad at him when he sends them home nicely?
Nigel & Sarah (Nigel’s Tulum Temptation)
This one was so short and there weren’t too many sparks here. Nigel and Alicia had such a strong first date that this felt inevitable. Plus, it’s hard to date someone who dated your guy.
Allyssa & Travis (Allyssa’s Traffic School Secret)
Travis seemed like a really nice guy, he just didn’t make Allyssa’s heart flutter. All of the gifts in the world can’t make her fall for Travis.
Jeff & Mark (Jeff’s Party Boy-Friend)
Mark and Jeff were another fun relationship that just didn’t pan out. Looking back, I can’t remember much of the relationship and that’s okay.
Ashley & Quinn
They left early and honestly, nothing was lost. This couple is bland and is the least interesting final couple in the show. They probably won’t go anywhere.
Jeff & Claude (Jeff’s Vegas Hookup)
Claude and Jeff had some nice moments. They were a lot of fun together, but Jeff is looking for more than fun.
Jeff & Taylor (Jeff’s Physical Distraction)
Taylor came too late to have a chance. He is cute, but that isn’t enough.
Allyssa & Adam (Allyssa’s All-Star Admirer)
Like Travis, Adam was another nice enough guy that just couldn’t win Allyssa over. Maybe people from her high school are a bad idea.
Kasey & Steve (Kasey’s Music Man)
This 10 year old friendship came to an end at the pool party. They had some nice moments
Kasey & Dylan (Kasey’s Work Study Buddy)
What the hell happened here? We went from cheering for Dylan to wondering if he is gaslighting Kasey. Yeah, this one is weird, and Kasey made the right choice.
Ashley & Taylor (Ashley’s Social Media Stud)
Taylor started off on the right side of Ashley, but the pool part made him realize that she comes with some challenges. This one got messy fast, but at least it was entertaining.
Vince and Isabel (Vince’s Happy Hour Hottie)
Poor Isabel never stood a chance against Yurika. This relationship will only be remembered for the camera shots on Isabel during the hot air balloon date and her rage as she was being sent back through the portal.
Kasey & Vinny (Kasey’s Neighbor)
I guess Vinny’s cheese wasn’t enough to overcome the power of kisses.
Allyssa & Nelson (Allyssa’s High School Crush)
This relationship was a disaster from the beginning. Allyssa didn’t get the sparks she wanted from Nelson, leading to a breakdown in the first episode. Their first and only date was cut short by the portal, and it didn’t take long for Nelson to be sent home. At least Nelson was confident and nice.
Ashley & Kyle (Ashley’s Work Convention Hero)
Another disaster from the beginning. Kyle can’t take a no well, and Ashley had a complete meltdown at the pool party. Both parties were a mess during their relationship, and it’s hard to look at the relationship and see a clear reason as to why it failed. Also, people need to recognize that people can be friends with other people.
Allyssa & Daniel (Allyssa’s Social Media Fan)
The crew just wanted to mess with Allyssa and Daniel was willing to shoot his shot. Absolute mess.
