Faraday Protocol is a solid first person puzzle game. Puzzles involving moving energy and matter from one place to another. It’s not as polished as games like Portal, but the puzzles have the same vibe. Throw in a solid narrative and you an enjoyable experience.
Inked: A Tale of Love

Inked is a beautiful and endearing love story with great visuals and a nice story. Fans of puzzle platformers that are just a little bit different will likely enjoy their time with Inked. The puzzles designs involving shapes are delightful and not too difficult. The game also isn’t so long that it overstays its welcome. Of course, the puzzles not being too difficult might be a reason for the more hardcore crowd to stay away. Still, if you are looking for a relaxing afternoon with a nice story, Inked should scratch that itch.
Cultist Simulator: Initiate Edition

Fans of Lovecraftian horror will dig a lot of what Cultist Simulator has going on. It’s a difficult game of trial and error that makes the most of the mechanisms that it utilizes. It’s half visual novel and half card game, giving players the freedom to experiment without any handholding. It’s a game that is meant to be played over a long period of time, and anyone who doesn’t want spend tons of time learning a game won’t enjoy Cultist Simulator. Those who stick with it will be rewarded though.
Charterstone

Legacy board games have a good place on digital platforms since players can actually replay them. For those who aren’t familiar, legacy board games are games that are intended to be played over multiple sessions. It typically results in the board and pieces being permanently altered, so they really can only be used once. Charterstone is a legacy board game that deserves to be played over and over again, and being able to do that on the Switch is great. It’s a beautiful interpretation of the city-building strategy game that is perfect for many game nights.
Lair of the Clockwork God

Lair of the Clockwork God has something for both point and click and platforming fans. Players will control two protagonists, with each one specializing one of the two genres. Both mechanics work great, and the sense of humor is spot on. Lair of the Clockwork God is genuinely one of the best games in both genres and is a must-play on the Switch.
Touhou Hyouibana ~ Antinomy of Common Flowers

Touhou games are known for how much they explore different genres. There are shooters, dungeon crawlers, and RPGs. Touhou Hyouibana ~ Antinomy of Common Flowers is a traditional 2D fighting game. Outside of the utilization of a the series’ popular characters, this game doesn’t really stand out in any way. It doesn’t do anything wrong or right, really. It’s a serviceable fighter that fans of the Touhou series will enjoy.
Tesla Force

Fans of twin-stick shooters will find plenty to like in Tesla Force. Tesla Force takes the twin-stick shooter and throws in some roguelike elements in. Players can enjoy tons of randomly generated stages and worlds filled with an overwhelming amount of enemies. It’s not an easy game, but the formula works and is addicting, making this another win for the genre.
