Nintendo Mobile has revealed the latest banner for its free-to-play strategy game, Fire Emblem Heroes. This new banner brings four heroes who are ready to make a splash at the beach. This banner brings three new alternate units, as well as the first appearance of a Fire Emblem Awakening unit. As always, here is a look at the featured characters.
Cordelia – Knight Paradise
Cordelia picks up her lance and trades her pegasus for a horse in her second alternate. Cordelia wields Shell lance+ which grants Atk/Spd/Def/Res +2 whenever she initiates combat. Her only new skill is Dull Close 3, which neutralizes melee enemy bonuses. Cordelia also Harsh Command and Sturdy Blow 2.
Noire – Shade Seeker
Noire makes her Fire Emblem Heroes debut! Tharja’s child is an infantry bow unit, just like her starting class in Fire Emblem Awakening. Noire’s weapon is Cocobow+, which has the same effect as Cordelia’s Shell Lance+. Noire introduces a new skill. Infantry Rush 3, which grants nearby infantry units (With an attack higher than their foe’s) special cooldown charge +1 per attack. She also comes with Ardent Sacrifice and Atk/Spd 2.
Innes – Flawless Form
Innes’ first alternate trades the bow for an axe (If you can call it that) and finds a pair of wings. Innes’ weapon, Beach Banner+ has the same effect as Cordelia and Noire’s weapon. Innes introduces Def Feint 3 to the game, which inflicts Def -7 on foes in cardinal directions when a friendly rally assist skill is used. He also brings Rally Atk/Def and Goad Fliers.
Tana – Noble and Nimble
Tana’s first alternate keeps her pegasus but trades the lance for a red tome, making her the only magic user in the banner. Tana also has the most unique weapon in the banner, Fruit of the Iðunn, which grants Spd +3 as well as Guidance 2. She also has the (Currently) unique skill Atk/Spd Push 3, which grants her Atk/Spd +5 if she is at full health (she will lose 1 hp after every combat). Tana also comes with Rally Spd/Res, Renewal 3, and Spur Atk/Def 2.
Our Take
The summer banners are always fanservice banners that aim to get us to spend money on our summer waifus and husbandos, so it’s really up to the player’s preferences in character/art. If you are only pulling from this banner due to skills, the best choice might be Noire, who provides a much-needed boost to infantry teams.
As always, keep in mind that seasonal units are much harder to merge due to their exclusivity. Most free-to-play players will be better building units they already have. There will also be another summer banner in just a few weeks, so hold on to your orbs if you aren’t thrilled about these characters – your favorite summer character might be just around the corner.
Good luck and happy summoning!
