Lilith Games revealed AFK Journey, the sequel to AFK Arena at PAX East 2024. AFK Journey is a casual open-world RPG that integrates strategic gacha battle elements with idle gaming.
AFK Journey takes place in Esperia, continuing the narrative from AFK Arena. The game features returning characters, real-time strategic battles that leverage terrain and traps, and a 3D world with a day-night cycle and changing weather conditions.
The game features a “Live Canvas Art Style” that evolves with in-game time and weather, strategic “Bullet Timing & Chessboard Tactics” for battle, and a streamlined “Hero Leveling & Equipment Sharing” system that allows for shared growth and equipment among characters of the same class. Additionally, AFK Journey supports cross-platform play.
Scheduled for release on March 27, 2024, AFK Journey will be available on Windows PC, iOS, and Android devices, with pre-registration already open. The game will initially be unavailable in certain regions, including China, Japan, South Korea, Indonesia, Thailand, and Vietnam.
