Kamigami Battles: Rise of the Old Ones is set to hit Kickstarter on October 19th. The latest entry in the series of deckbuilding games by Japanime Games will focus on Lovecraftian horrors, rather than the usual pantheons that the series usually emphasizes.

“Rise of The Old Ones is also the first pantheon of “gods” we begin to explore that aren’t rooted in the same mythology one has come to expect from the plethora of human religions and myths that both currently or have existed in our world,” says Japanime Games. “Now, with great fear, we usher in a newer, darker age where these cosmic horrors can wage battle with other pantheons.”

The series is known for taking gods of various pantheons and reimagining them with anime-style artwork. So far, the series has explored Egyptian, Norse, Celtic, Japanese, Hindu, and Chinese mythology.

Marcus isn't good at a lot, but he is an expert at replaying Final Fantasy games despite there being a lot of good stuff out there. He also loves comics, board games, and anime. He thinks Chip Zdarsky is a treasure.
