Easy Japanesey 3 adds adjectives, verbs, verbal nouns, nouns, and interjections to its repertoire. However, these additions do little to address the fundamental issues that have plagued the series from its inception. The game still lacks comprehensive lessons and effective teaching methods, rendering these new elements superficial for anyone not already proficient in Japanese.
The persistent design flaws, such as the tablet-only mode and ineffective button functionality, continue to limit the game’s appeal and accessibility. The promised study guide remains elusive, adding to the frustration.
With each iteration, Easy Japanesey seems to miss the opportunity to evolve into a valuable learning tool. Easy Japanesey 3 is no exception, echoing the shortcomings of its predecessors. For those wanting to learn Japanese, you’ll have to go somewhere else. The series, despite its continued attempts, has yet to deliver an effective language-learning experience on the Switch. At this point it is just lazy.
