Two trailers for Demonschool, the upcoming school-life tactics RPG developed by Necrosoft Games and published by Ysbryd Games, were unveiled at the Guerrilla Collective and IGN Summer of Gaming events. These trailers offer a look into the game’s blend of Shin Megami Tensei and Italian horror cinema influences.
As the final heir to the last-standing demon hunters family, college freshman Faye finds more than she bargained for from her school experience. While most students are bogged down with assigned reading, she finds herself whisked away on supernatural investigations. Could these hellspawned creatures be the ones from her family’s lore?
Demonschool presents a blend of 2D and 3D art, combining visuals inspired by Japanese manga and the aesthetics of Italian horror cinema from the 60s and 70s. The game’s art direction draws inspiration from JRPG titles like Shin Megami Tensei and Persona.
Brandon Sheffield, the creative director of Necrosoft Games, highlighted the game’s core message of teamwork and triumphing against adversity through relationships, stating, “Demonic televisions and terrible-tongued beasts are just perfect to mix it up and strengthen Faye’s friendships.”
Demonschool is set to enroll players on PlayStation 5|4, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, PC, Mac, and Steam Deck later in 2023
