The patch for Overwatch’s second anniversary is now live. This year’s anniversary event might be Overwatch’s largest so far, which not only contains new cosmetics, but also the cosmetics from every previous event. Each anniversary box will include at least one anniversary item and has a chance of pulling an item from a previous event. It’s a great opportunity to grab an item that you may have missed recently. Everyone who logs in during the event will be given a free anniversary box as well as a legendary box that will contain one legendary item that the player does…

Marvel comics has teased it’s latest Spider-Man event, which appears to be titled “Spidergeddon.” Unfortunately, there isn’t too much to take away from the teaser, as it only says “SPIDERGEDDON IS NIGH.” At the bottom of the visual is “Fall 2018,” but the date doesn’t get anymore specific than that. Marvel has quite a few relaunches and events scheduled for the rest of 2018, so there are many characters that could be involved in this event, though it could focus on Peter Parker, who is getting a relaunch written by Nick Spencer this June. We will update as news about…
Fence #6 Image Comics Writer: C.S. Pacat Artist: Johanna the Mad I’ve been a fan of anime and manga for as long as I can remember. I’m especially a sucker for slice of life and sports anime. As much as I love Western comics, I have to admit that when it comes to these genres, I almost always prefer the works that come out of Japan. This is why Fence is such a pleasant surprise. Fence’s influence by modern sports manga is so clear in every page and panel. C.S Pacat and Johanna the Mad are a marvelous duo. Together, they…
Marvel has been building up to Kitty Pryde and Colossus’ wedding for months now, but it has not been an exciting wait. While the characters have plenty of history throughout the X-Men comics, the couple has not had good chemistry as of late. The relationship and the reasons for their engagement have felt forced since X-Men Gold. Marvel is now trying to hype up the big event with a special featuring three stories. Unfortunately, all three of these stories miss the mark. Two of the three stories put the spotlight on Kitty Pryde, while the middle story puts an emphasis…
Infidel #3 Image Comics Writing: Pornsak Pichetshote Artist: Aaron Campbell It would appear that there is a lot more to Infidel than a modern haunted house story. This series originally felt like a horror story that also occasionally touched upon issues such as racism and other American struggles, but it has become clear that the creative team has planned on making this a commentary that can be hard to face. Pornsak Pichetshote is quickly establishing himself as a writer to look out for. His debut series is only three issues in but it already feels like one of the best…
Flavor #1 Image Comics Writer: Joseph Keatinge Artists: Wook Jin Clark & Tamra Bonvillain I’m not sure if I’ve ever read anything like Flavor before. Flavor #1 is the debut issue of Joe Keatinge’s latest Image series. Keatinge is known for some great creator-owned titles, including Glory and Shutter. Keatinge’s ability to craft wonderfully imaginative worlds never fails to amaze, and Flavor #1 continues that trend with a stellar debut. In the world of Flavor, food is king and chefs need to be licensed in order to mean anything. In this world, we have Xoo, an underaged, unlicensed chef…
Nintendo Mobile has revealed the latest banner for its free-to-play strategy game, Fire Emblem Heroes. Like last May, this is another bridal banner, featuring three alternates of popular heroes wearing bridal attire. This year’s bridal banner features Ninian, Sanaki, and Tharja. Each alternate brings new movement types and weapons, as well as few new skills, so let’s take a look. Ninian – Bright Eyed Bride Ninian returns with her first alternate in Fire Emblem Heroes. This time Ninian is a blue tome flier that still has her signature dance ability. In addition to Dance, Ninian also has a tome that…
Death or Glory #1 Image Comics Writer: Rick Remender Artist: Bengal Death or Glory #1 introduces the reader to Glory Owen, the series protagonist who needs to make money quickly in order to save her dying father. Glory Owen is an instantly relatable character who is willing to do anything to help her dying father, who can’t get any coverage without money due to living off of the grid. Unfortunately for Glory, she is being followed by an ex-husband who also happens to be a crime lord, which makes the ground beneath her even less stable. With nowhere else…
