Marcus isn't good at a lot, but he is an expert at replaying Final Fantasy games despite there being a lot of good stuff out there. He also loves comics, board games, and anime. He thinks Chip Zdarsky is a treasure.

Image Comics has announced that Daniel Warren Johnson (Extremity) will launch Murder Falcon, a new series under the Skybound imprint. The series follows Jake, who meets Murder Falcon, a monster-killer sent from The Heavy to destroy all evil. Together, Jake and Murder Falcon need to shred to save the world from monsters attacking earth. “Music is something that brings me a lot of joy, and it was my goal to translate that into images, thus bringing MURDER FALCON into the world,” said Johnson. “It’s a super combo of all the things I love, and I’m so excited to share it…

Comic Girls Studio: Nexus Genre: Comedy, Slice of life Stream: Crunchyroll If my review of Wotakoi: Love Is Hard For Otaku is any indication, I am a sucker for cozy slice of life anime. As much as I like the excitement of shounen, sometimes it just feels good to sit down and watch something simple that makes me feel good. I am also a huge fan of anime that teaches me about the processes of stuff (It’s why I think sports anime about obscure games are so appealing). Comic Girls made its debut during the Spring 2018 season and…

The Last Siege #2 Image Comics Writer: Landry Q. Walker Artists: Justin Greenwood & Eric Jones The first issue of The Last Siege had a lot going for it, but never quite captivated in the way that it should. We are introduced to a nameless protagonist in a gritty medieval world. The debut brought out some interesting themes, including medieval politics, vicious brutality, and a Spaghetti Western style approach. Unfortunately, the second issue of this series doesn’t bring about the mystique that the first issue offers, and overall this issue just falls flat. The Last Siege #2 focuses on…

Sex Criminals #25 Image Comics Writer: Matt Fraction Artist: Chip Zdarsky Sex Criminals #25 concludes “Five Fingered Discount,” which has been the toughest arc for Jon and Suzie yet. Matt Fraction and Chip Zdarsky always do a remarkable job at capturing every little nuance about sex and relationships, and that doesn’t change here. This arc has been about more than breakups, as it also explores the pain that is unrelated to the end of relationships (That tends to only come after relationships for some reason). Matt Fraction’s exploration of depression in Sex Criminals is profound. Both the protagonists…
