Free League Publishing has revealed that the Evolved Edition of ALIEN: The Roleplaying Game, will include content from the recent film ALIEN: Romulus. This updated version of the Core Rulebook will feature new settings, gear, and spacecraft from the film.
Working with 20th Century Studios, the new edition will include a detailed exploration of Jackson’s Star, a new F44AA Pulse Rifle, and the USCSS Corbelan IV mining hauler.

The new Evolved Edition (E2) builds upon player feedback gathered over the past five years, refining the game’s rules while adding fresh content and artwork. Free League has shifted the Kickstarter launch to Spring 2025 to incorporate more community suggestions, with the official retail release scheduled for Fall 2025.
Alongside the updated Core Rulebook, Free League will launch a series of new releases through the Kickstarter campaign, including:
- New Starter Set: Aimed at newcomers, this set includes abridged E2 rules, character sheets, custom dice, reference cards, and a revamped version of the Hope’s Last Day scenario, set just before the events of ALIENS.
- Cinematic Scenario – Rapture Protocol: This new boxed set returns to the franchise’s roots, following the crew of a star freighter on a routine resupply run that quickly descends into chaos.
- Heroic Scale Miniatures: Designed to complement the Rapture Protocol scenario, these miniatures are fully compatible with the entire ALIEN RPG series.
